Heal the Bay‘s “Nothin’ But Sand Beach Cleanup” is coming to Venice Beach this weekend, Saturday, January 16, 2010. No RSVP is needed…just show up from 10:00am – 12:00 noon at the Breakwater.
Cleanup locations rotate throughout the year amongst Los Angeles County’s dirtiest beaches…those that most need your help! Plus, it’s easy to participate: a Volunteer Application is not required and Heal the Bay provides all the cleanup supplies. All you need to do is show up!
The cleanups are held the third Saturday of each month, from 10:00am -12:00pm. All are welcome to participate in the cleanups, but each participant must sign a liability waiver (available at the cleanup). There is no minimum age, however, those under the age of 18 must have their waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Those participants under 18 who will not have a parent or guardian present at the event must print the waiver form beforehand, have it signed and bring it with them to the cleanup.
If it is raining steadily at the start time, the cleanup will be canceled. However, if the rain has stopped or it is just raining lightly, the cleanup will continue as scheduled.
