Over the weekend the LAPD started a new policy of not letting bicyclists ride the wrong way down Speedway from Washington towards Marina Del Rey. A motorcycle officer sat for two days redirecting cyclists towards Pacific Ave. I understand that Speedway is a one way alley, but pushing the cyclists towards the narrow and congested Pacific is a seriously flawed plan. I don’t know if it is feasible to paint a bike lane onto Speedway, but that many bicycles added onto a small street with fast moving cars on it like Pacific is not a good plan.
