The National Weather Service issued a high-surf warning for Southern California, with waves as high as 8 feet expected on southwest-facing beaches. Tonight at the Venice pier the Pacific Ocean was offering up a heck of a lot more than that, with the waves hitting the bottom of the pier repeatedly. Saturday is predicted to be 4-6 ft, shoulder high to 1 ft. overhead occasionally 7 ft. and fair conditions. Surfline has the report here.
