You are invited to participate in a free disaster awareness and emergency preparedness program sponsored by the Venice Neighborhood Council.
The “Venice Be Ready” expo will teach participants how to prepare and respond to a large-scale disaster. Presenters include the Los Angeles Fire and Police Departments, American Red Cross, Department of Emergency Services, Department of Animal Services, Venice Beach lifeguards, The Gas Company, state insurance officers as well as others.
This is a wonderful opportunity for you to find out what your role and responsibility is during an emergency. Also, this program will teach you and your kids important life saving techniques like CPR and how to prepare a plan for your pets should a large earthquake or tsunami hit Los Angeles.
The “Venice Be Ready” expo will be held:
Sunday, May 31, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Westside Leadership Magnet School
104 Anchorage Street (at Pacific Avenue, 1 block south of Washington Boulevard)
Marina del Rey, CA 90292
*Free parking at the school
Attending this expo could save your life as well as the lives of your loved ones. It will also be a fun day the whole family can enjoy with live music, raffles and a supervised playground for kids.
Please contact Nic Hippisley-Coxe at hippisley@earthlink.net if you would like to volunteer at the event. This is a unique opportunity to train yourself, your loved ones and the whole community should a disaster strike.
