A reminder to an event we posted about before:
Author/Historian Elayne Alexander will appear at the Venice-Abbot Kinney Memorial Library on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss and sign her Postcard History Series book “Venice”. The event is free to the public and sponsored by the Friends of Venice Library (FoVL).
Author Elayne Alexander’s love affair with Venice, California, began in 1968 when her roller-skate wheels spun her past colonnades and through arcaded walkways of rundown Moorish-style buildings. A Pennsylvania-born writer and researcher, she set out to find the origins of this unusual town. This book, her fourth regarding Venice, showcases vintage postcard collections, including her own. She has resided in Los Angeles County for 40 years and would never live anywhere else.
