Hi, it’s me, Keri, and I have an announcement: Leila is our newest Yo! Venice contributor, focusing on the Arts in Venice. Some of you may have “met” her on our forum. I had the pleasure of meeting her in person last week (at the Townhouse – more on that in a later post!). She is smart, friendly, and upbeat – and we are so grateful that she wants to write for us! This is her first post…take it away, Leila…
City councilman Bill Rosendahl’s office sent this letter to Abbot Kinney residents and businesses last week regarding the proposed metered parking lot on the stretch of alley behind Abbot Kinney between Palms and Venice Boulevard. It sounds like construction will be moving forward beginning this week, despite the dispute between the city and the artists who have fenced in open air studios on that alley.
Check out this editorial piece from the Venice Paper which details the issues many locals have regarding this project.
No word on whether an alternative arrangement for the artists’ space has been reached.
See how easy that was? You, too, can become a Yo! Venice contributor! Contact us!
