Jack Herer, considered the father of the marijuana legalization movement, died yesterday at the age of 70 in Eugene, Oregon from complications of a September heart attack. Herer operated a “Head Shop” in Venice Beach in the 70’s. Well known for his book “The Emperor Wears No Clothes”, Herer is survived by his wife, six children, a brother and a sister.
There is a nice writeup at the Oregonian here.
