Newly Elected Venice Neighborhood Council Board to be Sworn in at next Venice Neighborhood Council Board Meeting on June 17, 2014. 21 New Board Members will be sworn in and outgoing President Linda Lucks will pass the ceremonial gavel to incoming President Mike Newhouse at the Venice Neighborhood Council Board of Officers meeting on June 17th. The meeting will be held in the Westminster Elementary School Auditorium, 1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd, starting at 7 pm. In other business, nominations will be open for selection of Land Use and Planning Committee (LUPC) members. The applications for membership on the LUPC are due by the start of the VNC Board meeting on July 15, 2014. Also, 14 Community Officers will select 4 Community Officers to serve on the VNC Administrative Committee. The Board will hear land-use related presentations for recommendations for a Conditional Use Alcoholic Beverage Permit upgrade to a full line of alcohol for on-site consumption, as well as the addition of lunch-time hours, for the Piccolo Italian restaurant at 5 Dudley, a newly remodeled corner market/café (serving beer and wine only) at 9 Dudley, and a 2-home, 3-story small lot subdivision at 1740 Penmar. Snacks and coffee will be provided at the meeting. A detailed agenda will be posted on the Internet at www.VeniceNC.org and at posting locations throughout the community. There is no charge for this event. It is open to the public. Public Comments are encouraged.
