Yo! Venice! reader Mac sent in a report and picture that “a helicopter made an emergency landing sometime around 7:00 – 7:15pm on Santa Monica beach, a few hundred yards north of the Venice border. We overheard mention of failed hydraulics. The fellow who appeared to be the pilot was wrapped in an orange emergency blanket, aside from a probable state of shock he appeared uninjured. SMPD (ATV, Patrol Cars, Unmarked cars) and LIfeguards were on site, totaling about 15 vehicles. At least 2 news choppers were seen overhead (FOX, unknown), and a KCAL 9 truck was there too.”
We saw the news on KCAL and they said no one was injured. You can see their video of it here. Thanks for the report, Mac!
