Venetian Jonathan Alcorn Curates “Silverado Life”

Tomorrow evening the The Perfect Exposure Gallery will host an opening reception and auction for a photography project called “Silverado Life: A Thousand Words”. The project features 50 photographs captured by residents of the Silverado Senior Living facilities, which specializes in dementia care. A group of 5 JTA Photo Agency photographers did hands on mentoring during the project and Venetian Jonathan Alcorn personally curated and printed the show with the support and help of Canon. The exhibition will be on display until October 6th.

If your family, friends or loved ones have been affected by Alzheimer’s, please attend the event! All proceeds go directly to the Alzheimer’s Association!

From The Perfect Exposure Gallery:

About the Exhibit:

Silverado Life: A Thousand Words is an one-of-a-kind photo project in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association that put a camera in the hands of approximately 50 Southern California Silverado residents suffering from memory loss. The result: the world can gain a new perspective of what life is like living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. What these photos show is that while these individuals are suffering a brain disease that takes away their memory, their ability to think creatively remains in tact. What’s more, it demonstrates that individuals who suffer from the disease can still live an active, meaningful life while maintaining their dignity.
