The President’s helicopter crew (Marine One when the Pres is on it) just did a practice run over Venice within the last hour. On that note … From Councilman Bill Rosendahl:
Councilmember Bill Rosendahl wants to advise constituents of potential traffic delays resulting from the Presidential visit on September 26-27.

The President will be in LA for fundraising events that will take place in the cities of Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. Constituents should expect some street closures and traffic delays throughout the afternoon and evening of the visit.
“My office is currently in touch with the White House and the Secret Service to express concern over the potential traffic delays that have been seen in past Presidential visits,” said Rosendahl. “My office has also been in close communication with the Los Angeles Police Department and the Department of Transporation to ensure every effort is being made to direct traffic around the closures.”
The streets impacted include:
Sunset Boulevard between Barrington Ave and La Cienega Blvd
La Cienega Blvd between Melrose Ave and Waring St
Sunset Blvd between Rodeo Dr and Barrington Ave
**La Cienega will be shut down on Monday from 7:15-10:00 p.m.**
“I recognize that the Secret Service makes the ultimate call as to street closures and the President’s route of travel,” said Rosendahl, whose district includes portions of the Westside. “It is my hope they have learned from previous visits and understand that Angelenos already face gridlock on a daily basis and will not tolerate lengthy delays due to the President’s visit.”
