Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Pacific Division Captain Nicole Alberca performed the honors of swearing in the new Venice Chamber of Commerce (VCC) Board of Directors on Wednesday July 27 at the Rose Cafe-Restaurant in Venice.
Over 40 members of the Chamber, lovers of Venice, and locals, mixed and mingled, enjoying the annual Board Installation. Venice Paparazzi were on scene to capture the moments. Rosé and House Beer was served alongside delicious bites of avocado toast and zucchini pizza on the patio of the boho-chic, Venice restaurant.
Before swearing in the new Board of Directors, Captain Alberca said, “We can all agree that we can’t get anywhere without each other. So I think it’s very appropriate to have law enforcement shoulder to shoulder with our community because I’m very adamant that in two years, we would’ve never made the success we made without my community as my partners. It’s not just about the partnerships, it’s about the depth of the relationships that we’re going to build.”
Celebratory hugs and congratulations were shared after officers were sworn in. Long-time Venice local and now new VCC President, George Francisco, presented immediate past President, Carl Lambert, and past Secretary, Jill Prestup, with certificates of commendation from L.A. County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl.
Francisco told Yo! Venice, “As one of the founders of the Venice Chamber of Commerce over a century ago, Abbot Kinney left his imprint on the organization and our dedicated group of volunteer officers are humbled to continue to embrace his vision for the entire community.”
It was a night enjoyed by everyone. See more pictures on the Venice Paparazzi website.
