Los Angeles police are searching for a suspect who hit and killed a pedestrian with a stolen car. The tragic hit and run happened at around 8:45pm last night in the 99-hundred block of Venice Boulevard, at Dunn Drive, said Officer Ed Griffin of the Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division.
The male pedestrian was killed in the Palms/Mar Vista area when he was struck by a stolen car in a hit-and-run accident, police said.
The car was stolen from the area served by the LAPD Pacific Station. Investigators were working to determine what led to the hit-and-run accident and to locate the suspect. Police say they were not pursuing the stolen vehicle at the time of the crash.
The car is described as a maroon Buick four-door with a bicycle rack on it, Griffin said. It could have severe front-end damage from hitting the pedestrian.
The LAPD set up a command post at the intersection of Venice Boulevard and Hughes Avenue, Griffin said.
