LAPD Officer Matthew Ludwig said the three passengers who had been picked in the Venice Beach area by an Uber, a female and two males, have been booked on “weapons related charges.”
So far none of the suspects have been found, Ludwig said.
The passengers of the Uber had been targets in a gang related shooting on Tuesday. Four to five suspects inside a silver or gold Kia Optima had pulled up alongside the Uber vehicle and shot at the passengers at around 3:50 p.m.
The incident occurred near the intersection of
Lucille and Louella avenues in Venice, Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Daniel Gonzales said.
The driver of the Uber was the only victim in the shooting. He was transported to hospital and later released in a stable condition. L.A. Weekly reported that he had been struck in the arm.
None of the passengers in the vehicle were injured, Gonzales said.
