At approximately 9:35 this evening the LAPD was involved in a car chase that ended at the Venice Pier when the suspect jumped from his moving vehicle and unsuccessfully tried to escape by foot towards the ocean. The driverless car hit a metal bollard and fencing at the end of the pier and came to a stop.
A source at the LAPD said that the car is believed to be stolen. A witnesses at The Venice Whaler said that “it was pretty rad” and “made my night”. The witness also noted that there were 9 or so cop cars and two helicopters that arrived at the scene.
