APA (American Photographic Artists) Los Angeles will feature a FREE discussion with photographer Wynn Miller on Tuesday, September 10th from 7:30-8:30pm at The Apple Store on the 3rd Street Promenade. Click here to reserve your free seat!
From the organizers:
Los Angeles in the 70’s was a city divided. On the Eastside, Mexican gang culture was in full violent swing. Meanwhile, the gangs on the Westside were skateboarding their way into fame and fortune.
Tony Alva by Wynn Miller
Wynn had his camera in both worlds. Between 1976-78, Wynn split his time photographing the East LA gang “Arizona Maravilla”, and the legendary Dogtown skater Tony Alva. Wynn will describe and share these experiences and images.
Thanks to Tony M. for the heads up!
