Filmmaker Michael Angelo will show previews from his latest documentary titled “DocumenTree” this Friday evening, October 26th, at the Venice Ale House starting at 7pm.
Treeman with cinematographer Justin Johnson
The work in progress is the story of Venice’s Treeman, “an amphibious celestial being sent by his mother (mother nature) to create awareness among our species in many ways, one of which is to remember ‘we are not in nature we are nature'”. Interviews with Venice Beach artists, residents and tourists about Treeman are ongoing, so if you would like to be interviewed, contact the filmmakers!
Angelo’s last documentary effort featured Venice Beach artist Arthure Moore, whose “Funky Pussy” painting was used in much of the Hammer Museum’s Venice Beach Biennial literature. (Warning: language in the video is not “work safe”!)
