Many community members and businesses have contacted us about how you can help Oscar’s family as they grieve the loss of their beloved son. The Boys & Girls Club of Venice has offered and received the approval from the family to help with the funeral (Friday, June 15th at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Venice (685 Westminster, at 7th) and reception on Friday.
Here is how you can help Oscar’s family:
Donate prepared food for the reception. We anticipate on serving about 800 people at Oakwood Recreation Center (767 California Street). A food drop off station will be created at Oakwood Recreation Center on Friday starting at 9 a.m. Volunteers will be available curbside to receive donated food items.
Donate water and beverages. Items can be dropped off at the club (2232 Lincoln Blvd) starting Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
If you are unable to donate food or drinks, you can:
Make a monetary donation: The approximate cost of the funeral and reception is $5,000, every contribution helps, regardless of size. Donations will go towards purchasing tables, chairs, plates, napkins, printing costs, warming trays and serving dishes.
