The first offering from the new Powell-Peralta “tribute” series celebrates Venetian Jesse Martinez. It is an honor well overdue for Martinez, Venice’s ambassador of skateboarding. If you skateboard or collect skateboards, this is a must have deck!
Powell-Peralta chose to honor Martinez for his history as a Powell-Peralta rider and for his lasting impact on the skateboard world. Here in Venice, Jesse is responsible for getting the Venice Skatepark built as well as his involvement with the Venice Surf & Skateboard Association (VSA).

The Jesse Martinez deck features artwork by Vernon Courtland Johnson (aka VCJ), the artist responsible for many of the most iconic Powell-Peralta designs. VCJ is working with Powell-Peralta again after a decades long absence and all of his decks are highly collectible, his influence on street art still evident today.
