Small World Books has been in Venice since 1976 and can be found by entering a blue door behind the famed ‘Sidewalk Cafe‘. The old school charm of this shop is off the charts and books of all genres are here to find. Small World owner Mary Goodfader has been selling books for over 40yrs. Both her and her staff are filled with invaluable insights on any book you may be looking for. Her favorite book of the season is ‘1000 Autumns of Jacob de Zoet’. The best seller at the SWB is ‘City of Theives’. SWB is a supporter of the Venice Art Crawl and is currently featuring Joyce Gorelik.
Firefly is a shop with the unique combination of “Denmark meets Mexico”. This partnership works by wonderfully meshing the simplicity and colors of Denmark with the natural artisanal elements of Mexico making for and eclectic marvelous experience. Erinn Berkson, the owner of Firefly, hand picks the books found in her shop and she is excited to share them with her customers. Inspiration for her book choices comes from interesting things she sees in her travels but above all it is the ‘California Lifestyle’ that has the most impact. Although there are many titles available here the specialty of this establishment is Art and Architecture.
