From the Venice Circus:
The fantastic “Zircon & Wish Aerial Circus” is making its summer home in the outdoor, ever magical, Robin’s Sculpture Garden on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice. Performances of “Alice’s Wonderland” begin Saturday, May 14, 2011.
In our narrative circus, Alice adventures through a wonderland of flying aerialists, avant guard jugglers, luminous dancers, delightful clowns and imaginatively costumed performers, tiny and tall. The style of Zircon & Wish Aerial Circus is a unique mix of the brilliance of Cirque with the playfulness of Barnum.
Zircon & Wish Aerial Circus is a troupe of creative, multi-talented acrobats/artists/dancers/costume designers/choreographers/sound and light engineers, all based in Los Angeles. They are a marvelous family, in the grand tradition of circus families. Individually they have performed with companies including: The Los Angeles Opera, San Diego Old Globe Theater, Paramount Pictures, The Magic Castle, Zircon & Wish Aerial Entertainment, Cirque du Soleil’s Cirque du Monde, The Renaissance Faire, Circo Loco, Burningman, The Joshua Tree Big Top, Circus Disco, Fabulous Monsters, Disney Concert Hall and GhostLight Gypsies.
Venice based public art sculptor, Robin Murez has re-sculpted her intimate, magical sculpture garden to make room for this fabulous event: ” Zircon & Wish are absolutely spectacular performance art! Their dazzling, crazy performances ignite the space and mesmerize the audience, adults and children, alike.”
