From Curbed LA via The City Maven:
The purchase and sale of live animals on sidewalks would be banned in an ordinance requested by the Los Angeles City Council.
Council asked the city attorney to prepare an ordinance on the issue.
Signs notifying Angelenos of the ban would be posted in Santee Alley, where the sale of live animals has become a “growing problem,” according to a Department of Transportation report filed with the Transportation Committee. Signs would also be posted on Ocean Front Walk in Venice Beach.
