Last I checked, the first amendment is still alive and well in the United States of America. Apparently, as shown in the email that follows, the President of the VNC and various other Venice Neighborhood Council members do not want the residents of Venice to be able to converse on the open forums here at YoVenice.
One would assume there is nothing that they could attack me personally for, as I am more than willing to back up all of my words here, or in a court of law. Apparently these people are after YOU, the residents of Venice, and your free voices that post here on this website in a public forum. YOUR discussion of their actions and politics apparently have them discussing a “CEASE AND DESIST / ACCOUNT TERMINATION LETTER” to YoVenice’s internet provider. I find it a travesty that ANYone would contemplate the destruction of free speech in the United States of America.
I have had no email contact from Linda Lucks, Ivonne Guzman or Pete Thottam (the “weight” of his credentials notwithstanding) asking for any post on this site to be taken down for slander or libel, but apparently as shown in this email, they would like to take this site down.
As this email was apparently sent to board@venicenc.org, it will be easy enough to confirm through the Brown Act, although it has been corroborated by my source.
Email forward from The Venice Watchdawg:

I was very angry to hear about what happened to you w/ the unwarranted detention. Please let me know if I can help in any way.
CEASE AND DESIST / ACCOUNT TERMINATION LETTER TO GODADDY.COM (YoVenice’s ISP)
I ran into Linda this afternoon and we discussed the situation in some greater depth. I mentioned to her that I thought the two of you should join forces w/r to the possible slander/libel actions against YoVenice. Writing a letter(s) demanding that their website be pulled/unplugged via their GoDaddy service provider for violations of their terms of service and for wilful & malicious use of the community forum to put out racist and sexist garbage. I’d be glad to co-sign the letter to (with the weight of my credentials as an attorney). Amanda and other Board attorneys might be interested in co-signing too. Just let us know.
[…] Peter Thottam, who resigned from the Venice Neighborhood Council this past July after emailing summary notes that were alleged to be accusatory and of a “slanderous nature” regarding another Venice community member, is now spearheading the “Occupy the Rose Parade” protest. Good thing we have freedom of speech in the USA, right? […]
