Tonight at Venice Arts Gallery there will be a showing of “The Price of Sugar” starting at 7pm. This film raises key questions about where the products we consume originate and at what human cost they are produced.
Narrated by Paul Newman and directed by Bill Haney, The Price of Sugar follows Father Christopher Hartley, a charismatic Spanish priest, as he organizes some of this hemisphere’s poorest people to fight for their basic human rights.
The film closes Venice Arts’ presentation of Through the Eyes of Haitian Children, which features photographs taken before and after the after the devastating earthquake by participants in the Haiti-based project Zanmi Lakay, on view through September 24th.
