Brad Hamilton: Right. Learn it. Know it. Live it.
Jeff Spicoli: He’s the full hot orator.
Ok people. It is a bike path. That does not mean you and your whole family should walk straight down the center of it oblivious to the peril that you may be in. I may just sharpen some handlebars next summer as my form of the Darwin awards! (Just kidding … kinda-sorta! 😉 )
There should be a tutorial or handout that people get when they rent their bikes too. It should teach them things like:
1. Do NOT take up both sides of the bike path with your entire family on those reclining bikes.
2. Do NOT stop your bike in the path for any reason.
3. Be mindful of people trying to pass you and move the hell over.
We should just ride down the path with fly swatters and wack people who are walking on the path. It could become one of those things that Fodor’s reminds tourists of. Like when you go to Rome and they warn you of pickpockets. “Do not attempt to walk on the bikepath at the beach – bikers have been known to spank pedestrians with fly swatters.”
Hi Bret & Keri,
Looking forward to more semi-weekly bicycle reports now that summer’s approaching! Great blog, by the way!!!
