Ten Women Gallery on Abbot Kinney may soon be a thing of the past. The artists co-op, which has been in its Abbot Kinney location for the past 11 years, will be losing their lease as they are being asked to leave to make way for a new restaurant. Ten Women would like to stay in the neighborhood and are open to any ideas that the community may have. Please contact Joann Libolt at 562 708-0757 or email Mavis if you know of any available space that they can transition to.
From Ten Women:
Opening its doors in 2000, the co-op has been a popular destination for locals as well as tourists from all over the world. Offering a wide-range of hand-made art and gifts, the co-op quickly became a reliable place for one-of-a-kind finds. At Ten Women Venice you can find hand-blown glass, sculpture, photography, paintings, jewelry, scarves and much more. In a time of ever increasing numbers of chain stores, a place like Ten Women is a breath of fresh air and an important member of a community that has stood for independent ownership and variety.
Twenty-seven women own and operate the gallery and have come to cherish it as place to share their craft with the community and support each other in their artistic lives. They hope to stay for many years to come.
