The 7th annual Venice WAVE Awards will honor sixteen outstanding Venice teachers on May 11 at Coffee Connection in Mar Vista.
To celebrate, the Venice Chamber of Commerce Education Committee (VCCEC) will host a dinner for over one hundred people.
“This event is funded entirely by donations from our local community and dinner ticket sales. In past years the Boys and Girls Club of Venice have generously hosted the event at their venue, but we are looking to expand and attract more attention for these magnificent teachers,” said VCCEC Chair, Joelle Dumas.
During her years as Chair of the VCCEC, Dumas said her goal has been to act “as the architect of bridges between local businesses and educators aiming to develop a lasting forum where ideas and action meet to make the local community better. Fulfilling Abbot Kinney’s vision for Venice as a Mecca for art, culture, and education.”
The VCCEC exists to promote equality and inclusivity in the Venice school community by fostering learning environments for local children of all backgrounds.
The 7th annual Venice WAVE Awards ceremony is on May 11th, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Get your tickets through the Venice Chamber of Commerce.
