Locals, who have experienced enough July 4th’s in Venice know that the Beach can be left a bit of a mess after the holiday revelers leave, have got together to organize a beach clean up this Sunday.
The Cinco de Julio beach clean up is a quick 1 hour event planned to give both Venice and the Marina Peninsula Beaches a quick tidy up.
“As great as the day on the beach is, the morning of the 5th is a hot mess with red solo cups and broken bottles everywhere.” event organizers Ran Craycraft and Lonna MSpit wrote on Facebook.
Volunteers will meet at The Venice Whaler on Washington at 9am and then head out for an hour of clean-up along Speedway and the beach. Brunch and drinks back at the Whaler will follow the clean up.
Anyone interested in joining the group can click here for the Facebook event page, alternatively just head to the Whaler, 10 W Washington Blvd., Venice, this Sunday morning at 9am.
