As summer comes to an end so to does Body Love Yoga on the beach, but have no fear, it will return next year.
Class teacher Rose Pelosi explains her motivation behind starting Body Love Yoga, the series of free summer yoga classes that ran three times a week at 6:30 pm each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday throughout summer.
“I wanted to take away the intimidation,” says Pelosi. “Yoga is for all people. I just want people to feel better about themselves, confident, and strong.”
As the days have grown shorter and the winter chill begins to creep in beach yoga has moved to just once a week, Saturday mornings from 10:30am-11:30am.
Pelosi says that this summer’s beach yoga has been a gift and “tons of pure fun. Joining together with all the different people, from tourists to locals, who all came to share the beach space to practice yoga”
With three classes left, now is the time to make the most of the sand and sunshine before winter officially sees the end of beach yoga…until next year.
“I can’t wait to do it again next year and continue to grow the beach yoga community,” says Pelosi.
Pelosi says she is, “Definitely looking forward to next year and sharing more sunsets” on Venice Beach.
