Last night Captain Brian Johnson of the LAPD Pacific Division spoke at the Venice Neighborhood Council Board Meeting, discussing the recent face punching scandal of handcuffed skateboarder Ronald Weekly Jr. Tony Vera was there with his video camera.
While the face punching scandal has become international news, here in Venice a number of neighbors voiced their general displeasure last night about how the LAPD Pacific has been treating residents, as seen in the video.
The LAPD says it will take them 60 to 90 days to investigate and then decide weather or not it is appropriate for officers to smash handcuffed and restrained suspects in the face with their fists. Go figure.
