Illegal street racing is headed to LA next month, yo! (Location is Hollywood Blvd- times posted below!)
Local shop Rogue Status is headed out to run the Gumball 3000 rally in August with pro skateboarder and store owner Rob Dyrdek at the wheel of an assumed to be free to them Scion.
With a whopping entry fee of $120k US, Gumball 3000 is a 7 day rally in which drivers will start in San Francisco on the 8th of August and end up in Beijing on the 16th. For Angelinos who want to see all of the cars, it is probable they will be staying at the Roosevelt Hotel on August 9th. Gumball 3000 has has a ton of bad publicity in the last few years as Europe has been shutting street rallies like this down left and right and confiscating the participants vehicles as it is argues that these are nothing more than illegal street races. Last year at the Gumball 3000 some innocent motorists were killed by a participant.
If watching some illegal street racing by guys in Ferraris and stuff is your thing, their “schedule” is posted below … so head out to the hotel in the morning and watch the participants blow through all the street signs at a high rate of speed as they race from Los Angeles to San Diego on their next leg.
