Do you have an idea for a project that will improve the Venice community? If so, the application for 2012-2013 VNC Community Improvement funding is now available. Any VNC stakeholder or organization is eligible to apply for up to $2000. All applications must be postmarked by Monday, April 2, 2012.
VNC sets the standard for Los Angeles by allocating a large percentage of its annual budget to community project grants. Your VNC Board is granting thirteen thousand dollars for the 2012-13 season.
Successful applicants have included churches, schools, community organizations and individuals. Projects have ranged from neighborhood clean-up to community gardens to after-school programs for kids and programs for seniors. If you have an idea to improve our community, you can apply for funding!
Community Improvement Project funds are granted during a competitive process in which funds of up to $2,000 are awarded to local groups and individuals to improve the quality of life in Venice. Applications are available at the Venice Library, the Vera Davis Center and the Venice Neighborhood Council Table at the Friday Farmers’ Market. Or click here to download now.
The application looks formidable at first, but it is really easy to fill out. Start by reviewing the rules – if your idea qualifies (be sure to pay attention to how the funding can and can’t be used,) apply! Funds are granted for up to $2000.
Apply now, don’t delay – applications must be postmarked on or before Monday, April 2nd.
This could be the last year that Community Improvement Project funding is available due to budget cuts – so take advantage of the program NOW!
