The California Coastal Commission approved the proposed Venice Zipline Pilot Project with a 7-4 vote earlier today at their meeting in Redondo Beach. (Click here to download the Coastal Permit Application.)
Councilman Rosendahl would like the Zipline to be installed by Memorial Day weekend.
The project will be placed at the park land in front of the 1500-1600 block of Ocean Front Walk and includes installing a zip line for a three month pilot program in the spring and summer of 2013. The 750 foot long zip lines (up to 4 multiple lines) will run above the park between a 44 foot high “take off” platform and a 24 foot high “landing” platform.
