In response to the success of Abbot Kinney First Fridays, Main Street in Santa Monica is starting “Last Fridays”.
It will be interesting to see how Santa Monica deals with outside vendors at this upcoming event, as their website already has a “Special Announcement” in regard to their existing events for vendors that do not have retail businesses on Main Street
Special Announcements:
To Vendors who do not have retail businesses on Main Street:1) If you are not a Main Street business with a retail storefront in the Main Street Business Improvement District you cannot participate in the Little Main Street section of the Sunday Farmers’ Market. There are no exceptions.
2) The MSBIA does not seek vendors not in the Main Street Business Improvement District to participate in either the annual Holiday event or the annual Summer SOULstice event. These events are designed to bring people to Main Street for a good time, and to promote the businesses in the district.
