The National Weather Service has issued a “special weather alert” for Los Angeles, including coastal communities. From the NWS:
“Strong northwest to north winds across portions of southwest California through Sunday … Even stronger winds expected Sunday night through Monday night … Northwest flow has increased across the region this morning…And will continue to do so through the weekend. This will set the stage for a prolonged period of gusty winds across the region …With damaging winds in some locations. In the mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura counties …Wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph are expected at times through the weekend”.
