Bulky Item Collection:
The Bureau of Sanitation (BOS) will pick-up your large or bulky household items, such as mattresses, couches, and other furnitures from all residents serviced by the City of Los Angeles free of charge.

To make arrangements to have these items removed from your curbside by phone, please call 1-800-773-2489, from Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., at least one day before your regular collection day.
Bulky items are collected on the day of your regular trash collection day.

Free Home Composting Workshops & Bin Sales
Residents can learn about backyard composting, worm composting, types of compost bins, grasscycling, and other smart gardening techniques at the City’s free backyard composting workshops. In addition to the workshops, special discounted compost bin sales events are held throughout the year.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program
Dead Animal Collection:
The Bureau of Sanitation collects dead animals free of charge, except for horses and cows. (For horses and cows, please check your local yellow pages for a rendering service.)
