Venice Beach Paddle Tennis Signups!

Need a fun and free (once you have a racquet) fitness activity? Check out the newly refinished paddle tennis courts on Ocean Front Walk. There are usually open courts and someone sitting around waiting for a “pick up” game if you don’t have a friend to play with. Paddle tennis is great exercise and the beach courts are free!

If you already have some skills on the court, today is the last day to register for the 2011 “December To Remember Doubles Tournament”! The competition will be held on December 10th and 11th.

Fees:
Day 1 Saturday: $20 per player for one division / $30 per player for two divisions
Day 2 Sunday: $20 per player for one division / $30 per player for two divisions

Players may only enter a maximum of two (2) divisions per day

The Tournament Committe may need to cancel or combine divisions depending on the number of entrants.

Entry Deadline: Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 at midnight.

Only players who are registered by the deadline will be seeded. The tournament draw will be posted here on Friday evening prior to the event.

Check in time for all divisions is between 8:30 – 9:00am on game day. Please check in on time to ensure that you are not defaulted. Games will start by 9:00am.

Play will be governed by the USPTA rules. Tournament will be double elimination. Players may be required to referee. Higher division players may not play in lower divisions, but lower division players can play in higher divisions – the Tournament Committee reserves the right to change a player’s classification.

Players may play in a maximum of two divisions per day. Divisions will be as follows:

Saturday, December 10th

Doubles: OPEN, A, B/C

Sunday, December 11th

Mixed Doubles: OPEN, A, B
Masters Doubles (Ages 45-54)
Legends Doubles (Ages 55-64)
Seniors Doubles (Age 65+)
