Rosendahl Encourages Community Engagement in Valet Parking Permit Report

From Councilman Rosendahl:

Los Angeles City Councilmember Bill Rosendahl is encouraging constituents to become engaged in an issue that could have a tremendous impact on dining and entertainment destinations in the 11th District.

Bill Rosendahl

The Councilmember just learned that the Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA) has released a report on the proposed Valet Parking Permit Program (October 2, 2012). The report is tentatively scheduled to be heard at a Special Public Safety Committee meeting on Friday, November 16th, 8:45 a.m., at 200 North Spring Street, Los Angeles, 90012.

The Councilmember is constantly reminding people that Venice is the number one tourist destination in the City, yet it appears that the only community groups that have been consulted in this report were from Hollywood.

“Valet Parking is an issue that continues to present challenges to communities and business operators all over the City,” said Rosendahl. “ I hope that you can take the time to review the report and provide your input to the Public Safety Committee – either in person or in writing.”

The report and accompanying file can be found at the following link.

“Parking, or lack thereof, is a serious issue in a lot of CD11 communities,” said Rosendahl. “This report — and draft ordinance — could be a good first step toward getting something done to fix those issues.”

As always, the Councilmember says he will look to hear from his local Neighborhood Councils and business leaders on how this will impact them before he will officially weigh in.
