Whole Foods is having a Christmas and Hannukah Tasting Event this Sunday…and I’m having a hard time writing this post about it.

Why?  Because for some reason, I’m picturing Latkas vs. Fruitcakes as Hannukah and Christmas face-off to win the title of “Best Tasting Holiday.”  I have no idea what’s wrong with me – between this and personifying the crayons, I think I need a vacay.  Badly.

Anyway, there will be NO potato pancakes or fruitcakes at this event.  In fact, no cake of any kind.  Whole Foods tells us that the menu of “holiday options” will be:

  • Ham (the battle begins…)
  • Pheasant Breast
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Roasted Brussel Sprouts
  • Green Bean Almandine
  • Traditional Pot Roast
  • Rum Raisin Empanada

They were kind to offer us “personalized tips” from the Whole Food Market’s LA experts – which I’m going to take them up on because honestly, other than the mashed potatoes, there’s nothing on that menu for a vegetarian who hates brussel sprouts and whose sister vomited green bean almandine ON Christmas Day in 1982. But, I’m sure this is a delicious menu for normal people. Stay tuned for the Vegetarian-with-Issues Holiday Options from Whole Foods.
