Venice Breakwater Surf Report


Chilly morning. Slight uptick in wave size.


“Slight” increase in size, but my camera ran out of juice before I could snap off some photos of some of the bigger waves…


There were about a dozen people out, but mostly all beginners, so no one really catching waves. Saw alot of pearling, which is funny, because Breakwater for years has had such a tough, locals-only vibe among the hardcore surfers. Now it seems as if it is one of the popular beginner breaks, more so than the pier. Wait till a couple of big winter swells roll through and you see some of the newer surfers trying to get some waves off the rocks. That will be interesting.
