“Random Acts of Helpfulness” Program Gave Free Pumpkins to Venice Families

3:11pm

As part of a campaign organized by the Southern California Honda Dealers in which strangers are given free assistance with everything from childcare to education that should be familiar to anyone who’s heard their radio ads, the Helpful Honda Dealers are taking their “Random Acts of Helpfulness” program to pumpkin patches throughout Southern California during the month of October and handing out free pumpkins to anyone that visits. Last Sunday, they were out at the Lopez Ranch Pumpkin Patch on Rose Avenue handing out vouchers allowing the families, and anyone else interested visiting, to pick out and take home a pumpkin at no charge.

“We’re excited to give out free pumpkins to everybody,” said Belle Cordero, who is one of the Helpful Honda People.

Families visiting the Lopez Ranch Pumpkin Patch were also partaking in the many activities set up for children, which included a small pony corral, face painting, and Halloween arts and crafts.

“We wanted to make sure we were present to help out the Venice community,” said Cordero.

Upcoming pumpkin patch visits by the Helpful Honda Dealers will take place at Rancho Cucamonga, Palms, Pasadena, San Bernardino and Eastvale on Saturday, October 22 and in Irvine, Ventura, Bellflower, Simi Valley, Los Angeles, Victorville, Culver City on Sunday, October 23.

Also, as part of their Halloween festivities, Helpful Honda Dealers will be visiting children’s hospitals and organizations focused on helping underprivileged youth and holding Halloween celebrations. On October 24th, from 4-6pm, they will be co-hosting one of their Halloween events with the Children’s Lifesaving Foundation, which offers programs for homeless and at-risk youth, at Pop Up Park, located at 1021 1/2 Abbot Kinney Blvd.
