From Venice native Michael Lozano:
I am currently with Chicano Harley Riders, a group of HD Riders made up of all neighborhoods on the Westside. We are all older gents from the neighborhoods (Venice, Culver City, Sawtelle, Santa Monica, Gardena, etc.) who now ride in unison to prove to our youth that unity amongst all neighborhoods is stronger than what they portray on the streets today.
Our get-togethers are for benefits and fundraisers that help our communities youth, the less fortunate and/or abused. We have been successful in raising funds and gifts for organizations like The L.A. Children’s Hospital, The Boys and Girls Club of America, Optimist Youth Home of LA, The Fred Jordan Mission, Westside Children’s Center and several battered women/children centers around LA just to name a few.
CHR is now challenged with raising funds for one of our own who was in an accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Louis Rosa is a husband and father with a limited income since his accident and is in need of assistance to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle. The Rosa family are very dear to us and continue to support CHR in many ways.
We scheduled an event to raise funds at The Eagles Club in Culver City CA. on Friday July 6th 2012 with Live Music and DJ from 8:00pm – 12:30am. We are also asking those who cannot attend to please help by donating to the Rosa cause by contacting me via email malozano68@yahoo.com for more information and donations.
Our goal is to present the Rosa family with funds to purchase a wheelchair accessible van that will allow him to get to and from therapy and doctor visits with minimum effort.
