This little guy has been popping up all around town! I first noticed a Rabbit Kinney t-shirt in the window of Eden’s Green Garden and before I could google it, I got this sticker* in the mail! That same day, Yo Venice! got a lovely email from his creator:
"My name is Jean Kim, of ‘Rabbit Kinney.’ I created Rabbit with hopes of all things positive: community pride, reflection of Venice’s unique history and the importance of being friendly to our environment. At first, I did not know what to do with my character. Eventually, organic apparel became my primary choice of canvas. I now carry onesies, kids and ladies tees, bags and accessories depicting the various activities of Venice. "
Jean has a digital imaging background (Fine Arts Degree from NYU) and has been living in Venice for 10 years. (She’s a NYC transplant…like me. East Coast Rules! Not really, or we would have stayed there.) She feels Venice is one of the best parts of LA – and we couldn’t agree more.
Her website sells baby and kid’s clothing and toys, women’s t-shirts, greeting cards and a cute tote. Keep checking back – a children’s book and eco-friendly plush Rabbit Kinney doll are in the works! You can also find Rabbit Kinney items at Eden’s and Neighborhood & Urbanic on AKB and The Artist’s Web Store in Santa Monica.
